This complete trip immerses you in two countries: Costa Rica, with the planet’s highest biodiversity, where we will explore its best jungles through canyoning, rafting, and trekking; and the Caribbean coast of Panama, where you can experience its many shades of blue through diving and snorkeling, all in a paradisiacal setting.

Expedition

In 15 days / 14 nights, we will have the opportunity to explore two countries in depth: Costa Rica and Panama. With the adventure that sets us apart, you will experience unforgettable moments that will surely leave a mark.

We will form a small, close-knit group, with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 adventurers.

We will arrive in San José, where our private van and national guide will be waiting for us. The guide will accompany us throughout the expedition. From there, we will head to the Turrialba mountains, where we will spend the first night resting in a charming hotel.

The next day, after a comfortable night’s rest, our expedition begins with the adventure that defines us: canyoning in a unique and special location in the country. The activity will conclude with a wood-fired meal in a humble mountain village.

The following day, we will experience one of the best rafting adventures in Central America. We will navigate the Costa Rican jungle on the spectacular Pacuare River, ending the day with a local meal.

Once we have explored the best of the Tica mountains, it’s time to dive into the Caribbean blues: 3 nights in Tortuguero, 4 in Puerto Viejo, and 4 in Bocas del Toro (Panama) await us.

Here, we will enjoy the best treks in the national parks and relax on beaches full of culture and life.

There’s no better way to close this spectacular journey than crossing into Panama, Bocas del Toro. We will spend 3 days enjoying the best diving (2 Fun Dives) and snorkeling in a paradisiacal setting. It’s an ideal place for both professional divers and those seeking their first underwater experience; diving course prices available upon request.

From here, we will return to Puerto Viejo (Costa Rica) for 1 final night, bidding farewell to a complete and incredible expedition that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.

On the last day, the van will take us to San José airport.

  • The design and organization of the Adventure and Personal Growth Expedition, as well as the coordination of all activities planned for each moment of the journey.
  • Creation of a WhatsApp group to stay in direct contact with your expedition guide and fellow travelers, ensuring you feel fully supported during the pre-trip phase.
  • A preparatory Zoom meeting with your expedition guide and fellow travelers, where you'll go over topics such as packing, the trip budget at the destination, and any other questions you may have.
  • The support of the expedition guide, who will be responsible for ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of the group, creating an atmosphere of empathy and trust. Knowledgeable about the destination, they will be your point of reference and will share their passion for the place and the experience with you.
  • We capture your memories with professional cameras and a drone (when flying is permitted). A video summary of the expedition will be edited, showcasing the best moments.
  • Specialized and professional team, with continuous training to ensure we provide you with the best possible service. Our professional ethics are based on paying our guides a fair salary, above the industry average.

‘Caribbean Experience’ is about fully immersing yourself in the Central American coast. We make the most of it with a multi-adventure trip that will surprise you.

  • Accommodation: Charming 3- and 4-star hotels. Double rooms. Private rooms available for an additional fee—please inquire.
  • Transportation: Private van with local driver throughout the expedition + boats in Tortuguero + taxi and ferry in Panama.
  • Meals: All breakfasts at the accommodations. Local meals on activity days: canyoning and rafting. Plus 3 days with full board (Tortuguero).
  • Activities: Diving (6 Fun Dives), 3 treks in National Parks, canyoning, and rafting.
  • Insurance: Travel Assistance and Adventure Insurance.
  • Other Expenses: You should set aside an extra portion of your budget for personal expenses, drinks, souvenirs, or any unforeseen costs that may arise during the trip. I usually recommend around 20% of your travel budget for additional and unexpected expenses.

  • International flight from Spain. Approximate price: €1.000. The cost of international flights is excluded from the budget as it is highly variable and depends on many factors, such as booking date or departure city. The expedition dates correspond to the start of the trip at the destination. You have complete freedom to choose your flight if you have flexibility and prefer to fly whenever you like, as long as you arrive at the destination by the start date of the expedition. Similarly, Banana Nature will always offer you a flight departing from Spain so you can travel with the rest of the group if you choose to do so. We will always provide you with the best option, and the expedition guide will assist you throughout the entire logistical process and trip preparations.

How to make your reservation

Step by step

Fill out the registration form

At Banana Nature, we’re especially passionate about getting to know our adventurers and understanding their current life situation and personal journey.

Qualification call

Once you submit the form, a member of the Banana Nature team will give you a call to chat, get to know you better, and—if we believe our Expeditions are just what you’re looking for—secure your spot on the team.

Reservation payment

Once your spot is confirmed, you’ll need to make an initial payment of €300 as a reservation deposit. This amount will be deducted from your total registration fee.

Minimum group

Once the minimum number of spots for the Expedition is confirmed, the guide will contact you to let you know that the Expedition is officially moving forward. Don’t worry—if the minimum group size isn’t reached, we’ll refund your reservation in full.

Meet your team

The guide will create a WhatsApp group with all Expedition members. From that moment on, you'll be in direct contact with the entire team to start working together on the preparations and to answer any questions you may have.

Full payment

The remaining amount for the trip contracted with Banana Nature will be paid, always in accordance with the booking terms and conditions.

International flight booking

At this point, the guide will assist you in booking your international flight. As mentioned, you’ll have the option to go with the official flight proposal or choose an alternative that better suits your situation—just make sure it aligns with the official start dates of the Expedition.

What exactly is Banana Nature and who are its “professional guides”?

We are travel coordinators specialized in outdoor adventure sports.

What sets us apart is that our guides hold the official international certifications required for each activity. This allows us to provide expert advice on everything you sign up for, adding an extra layer of safety, experience, and insight.

All the destinations we offer are places we’ve personally explored. That means you can relax and focus on what really matters: making the most of every experience.

No prior experience is required — all our activities are designed for beginner level. However, you will need a basic level of physical and mental readiness.

That’s why our professional guides will reach out to you a few months before the trip to understand your starting point and confirm whether you’re a good fit for the Expedition.

The difference is that Expeditions are group trips organized by us and led by an official Banana Nature guide.

In contrast, a Custom Trip is planned entirely for you — you travel on your own, with whoever you choose, and on the dates that work best for you. There’s no Banana Nature guide accompanying you in person.

Both options are based on the destinations listed in our “Destinations” section, which serve as the foundation for your adventure.

No, it’s not mandatory. It always depends on the destination you choose. We’ll get in touch with you to learn more about you — your physical condition and any prior experience.

Together, we’ll assess your needs and, with the help of our professional team, create a personalized preparation plan to ensure a complete and safe experience — if you decide to go ahead with it.

Once you sign up for an Expedition, you’ll need to follow the booking conditions outlined here.

Canceling your participation 3 months in advance is not the same as doing it 5 days before — different terms will apply depending on the timing.

Yes, if the cancellation is due to not reaching the minimum number of participants, the company reserves the right to cancel the trip and will fully refund the amount paid by the customer.

All these kinds of questions and logistical details will be handled together with your guide and the rest of the group once the Expedition is confirmed and you start preparing for the adventure.
